The XChange by Closing Delta

A place to share, learn and grow

The XChange,

A note from our founder, Gaurav Sanganee, Founder of Closing Delta.

Welcome to the first XChange, I want to make this an open medium and forum to share how to learn, share and grow, both professionally and personally.

The aims are to open this forum and our minds on here, so that “each one can teach one” to feel more empowered and achieve better outcomes, and we can collectively learn and grow.

I love writing, and I have always written content to help share ideas on topics in pharma, leadership, content, AI, and social issues. So this felt a natural extension with the ability to bring pharma and non pharma content and people together.

Now together on here we can truly create “Content that Connects”.

I hope you enjoy this first edition, as we look at imposter syndrome, social mobility, financial literacy and representation while supporting a very important bike ride.

There are no specific topics, agenda, or biases. Each month, I will look to share with you thought starters, tips, tricks, and technology from myself, my partners and my wider professional network of experts, that will hopefully help you to learn, grow and improve aspects of your work and hopefully the quality of your life”.

A massive thank you to our wonderful co authors who have dedicated time and effort to bring this content to you.

If you are inspired by the read, then I look forward to seeing more of you sharing on here. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you wish to get involved and be part of it.

Take the content in bite sizes, take a quick scan or dive deeper into each of the topics, it is up to you.

Then ideally look to follow up on social and connect with the authors to learn more and grow your network and net worth.

Time to choose your own learning journey, so lets begin.

Best wishes,

Gaurav

Breaking the silence: confronting imposter syndrome in pharma

In an industry built to alleviate suffering, it’s a great irony that its pharmaceutical professionals routinely endure long hours, regulatory demands, personal sacrifices and immense pressure to perform.

This isn’t helped by a further great irony, that despite us being highly educated professionals, it is members of the science and pharmaceutical sector that are most likely to experience imposter syndrome (78% as reported by Personnel Today in a survey of 5,000 individuals by the training and apprenticeship provider Executive Development Network).

Have you ever felt that you were not good enough despite your achievements?

If so, you are not alone. I invite you to read my latest blog post here, where I explore imposter syndrome - what it is, who it affects, and most importantly, how to overcome it.

On the backdrop of economic uncertainty and industry restructuring it’s no surprise that mental health often suffers.

If this topic resonates with you please do connect with me and get in touch, Thanks Emma.

James’s XChange aka The Linked In Man

Brain tumours killed not just my own father but more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease and rather than moan about it, I have decided to do this charity bike ride to raise some much needed funds for them and bring some awareness of the topic too.

I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK to find a cure for all brain tumours.

Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.

Thank you, James, details below.

Yam’s XChange

Welcome to The Black Sherpa Podcast's blog series, where we delve into the key learnings and reflections shared by the remarkable individuals I have the pleasure and privilege of interviewing.

My name is Yam and as the host of The Black Sherpa Podcast, I’m dedicated to shining a light on the pathways to Social Mobility. Through insightful conversations, we aim to inspire a generation to own their career progression and commit to personal development.

In this edition of The Black Sherpa Podcast's blog series, we delve into the remarkable journey of Emmanuel Asuquo, a seasoned Financial Adviser and advocate for financial literacy. Emmanuel's story exemplifies the transformative power of representation and equitable opportunities, as he navigates the banking sector and inspires others to pursue careers in finance.

Reflecting on Emmanuel's story prompts us to consider our own experiences with representation and opportunity. How have they influenced our aspirations and development? Furthermore, it urges us to contemplate the steps individuals and organisations can take to create more equitable opportunities and empower marginalised communities financially.

Emmanuel Asuquo's journey serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of representation and equitable opportunities in driving social mobility and enabling individuals to make meaningful commercial impact and achieve financial empowerment.
